Computer Software
Text Editor
MS NotePad is quite adequate for
writing a large amount of text, but you will need to do the text
formatting after you cut and paste it to your WYSIWYG HTML editor.
Notepad will give you clean unformatted text. In contrast MS
Word will give you fully formatted text. However the formatting may clash
with your HTML editor and produce all sorts of undesirable results, that
can not be easily corrected.
Story Writing Organizer
I can recommend a very handy program called NovelPRO which will keep
all your materials neatly organized and readily accessable. http://novelcode.com
HTML Editor
I recommend that you use a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) HTML
editor. This enables you to get quick predictable results without having
to learn any HTML programming language. Find a good html editor go
here.
Another favourite (expensive) is Dreamweaver
I used Netscape Composer for this eBook.
Internet Browser
I reccomend that you use the latest edition of MS Internet Explorer,
you will need that installed to view your finished eBook in any case. Internet

The eBook Compiler software uses the MS Browser as a viewing platform.
MIDI Player/Editor
I use a MIDI file player/editor called Voyetra MIDI Orchestrator Plus.
There are many excellent programs available. Voyetra
Turtle Beach have a huge range.
Sound Editor
Another optional extra that can help you make sound files (WAV or MP3)
which can be used to enhance your eBook. I can recommend a program called
Cool
Edit.
MIDI Music Files
These are freely available in abundance on the internet . Start

Note: Check that the file is not copywrite before using it.
Your eBook Compiler
I can recommend E-ditor Pro which was used to make this eBook.
It has enough features for most needs and is not expensive.

FTP Software
You will need this to upload your finished MIDI-eBooks to the Web.

I have had success with Bullet Proof FTP (BPFTP) as well as CuteFTP.
